I am so excited for today’s post because I am talking all about my new lash extensions from Jorgluxe Lash and Brow Boutique which I am completely obsessed with!
This was my first ever experience with lash extensions and I truly am so in love with the final outcome. I think I’m definitely a lash-girl from here on out! I was lucky enough to work with Emily Christensen, who is a total lash expert and has been in the lash industry for over 5 years. She was so sweet and answered all of the questions I had going into the appointment which made me feel right at ease. For anyone interested in learning more about the process, see my initial questions below:
Do lash extensions hurt?
There is absolutely no pain involved in the process whatsoever!
How does the process work?
Your esthetician will glue each individual false lash onto one of your current lashes. I originally was under the impression that the lash would be glued onto my eye-lid, but that is completely false.
*Fun Fact: The average human has approximately 60 lashes per eye.
What are the lashes made of?
The lashes Emily used are black, shiny and flexible silk extensions which will continuously hold their shape and curl if they are properly taken care of.
How long do lash extensions last?
Depending how well you take care of your new lashes, they can last anywhere from 2 to 4.5 weeks. Fills are recommended past that time frame.
Will lash extensions ruin my current lashes?
Lash extensions are not damaging with proper care! We all have a lash cycle that causes us to shed lashes every week, so once your lash is ready to fall out, the extension will go with it and you will grow a new lash in its place.
*Think of lash extensions as getting acrylic nails. If you rip off your acrylic nail, it is damaging to your fingernails. If removed properly or naturally, there is no damage.
How much do lash extensions cost?
Classic Lash Extensions at Jorgluxe Lash and Brow Boutique range from $125-$150. Fills range from $50-$85 depending on how long you waited to come back and the condition of your lashes.
I completely recommend lash extensions to anyone who wants to glam up their normal day-to-day look! They’re so manageable and have cut down my makeup routine to half the time. I’m still trying to find someone here in Tucson that will give me a fill for free in exchange for a review, but it’s so competitive here. I was going to do a full on post about lash extensions too because they’re unique and a lot of people know nothing about them to be quite honest. I mention it and people don’t even understand. They think it’s a professional applying a set of lashes…I have to set them straight & then they don’t believe me when I say it’s a lash PER lash procedure! It does seem insane when you think about it because it’s so tedious but looks so good in the end. I’ve been loving them because it’s so much easier to get ready in the morning! xx, adaatude.com
