I am constantly testing out new products in hopes of finding that magical formulation that makes me look like Kendall Jenner in approximately 5 seconds. I mean a girl can dream, right…?
Since I unfortunately haven’t found that magical product after years of searching, I took it upon myself and formulated my own personal 5 step method that guarantees a flawless face if applied correctly. Now of course, “flawless face” is totally a long-shot, but these 5 steps will definitely help you achieve a radiant and healthy glow for your day-to-day routine.
Since everyone has different skin types and problem areas, these steps can absolutely be modified to fit your personal needs. For reference, I typically have extremely sensitive and a dry to combination skin type. I try to combat my dry skin type by reaching for luminous and dewy finishes. If you are naturally more oily, some of my favorite products listed may not be right for you, but the steps below will be sure to give you the same flawless finish, just with using different products.
1. PREP + PRIME:
I always start my makeup routine off with a freshly-washed and moisturized face. I’ve currently been loving starting my morning off with the Tula Purifying Face Cleanser and the Hydrating Day & Night Cream. I think prepping the skin is absolutely crucial to achieving your flawless face.
After I’ve applied my moisturizer, I apply a dime-sized amount of primer to smooth out any uneven surfaces and fill in my pores. Applying a primer isn’t always necessary, but I find that when using a primer, my foundation goes on smoother and wears longer throughout the day. I typically reach for a smoothing or nourishing primer to enhance the sheen of my foundation.
2. FOUNDATION:
When I search for a foundation, I typically always look for a dewy finish rather than a matte finish. I love the appearance of healthy, hydrated and radiant skin. With that being said, my all-time favorite foundations are linked below and I always apply my foundation with a Sigma F80 Kabuki brush to ensure it is distributed evenly.
3. CONCEAL:
After applying my foundation, I apply my concealer using the “Triangle Method” that I previously talked about here. Using this method will be sure to brighten up the face and make your skin look more youthful and highlighted. I always purchase my concealer one shade lighter than my current foundation to ensure my face is highlighted in all of the right places for a more slimming appearance.
4. SET WITH POWDER:
Ladies, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again! This step is absolutely crucial to ensuring your makeup stays in place all day long. Especially moving into the scorching summer months! After your concealer is applied, take a fluffy tapered brush, dip it into your translucent powder, dab off the excess and pat the product under the eyes. Be sure to pat the powder rather than drag to ensure your concealer doesn’t move and is set in it’s proper place.
5. HIGHLIGHT:
Oh, boy! This step is one of my favorites! After steps 1-4 are complete, I grab my highlighter and dust the product onto the high points of my cheek and onto my cupids bow. Applying highlighter to the high points of the face allows your face to have a natural and radiant glow that is seriously so gorgeous.
How do you achieve a flawless face? Leave your method in the comments below! And as always, please feel free to reach out to me personally if you have any questions regarding this 5 step process!
Have a fabulous week, gorgeous! xo

It appears that I’m skipping a few steps. I’m adding a few of the products to my shopping list so that I can give this routine a try.

I have a routine that I follow that is pretty similar to yours. However I don’t currently use a highlighter so I might look into adding one into my routine.

Such an amazing plethora of lovely products, I can’t disagree with ANY of your choices. All fabulous picks and I love primers + need them in Arizona. If I don’t use a primer, forget it. There will be literally no product on my face! xx adaatude.com

These are great tips! I’m pretty lazy when it comes to foundation, but it’s something I definitely need to pay more attention to.
