If you caught my previous post here, then you know I got lash extensions towards the end of last year. After consecutively wearing lash extensions for a little over 6 months now, I honestly cannot say enough great things about them! The additional dimension and glam they bring to the face is well-worth the upkeep.
If you’re on the fence of whether or not to try out lash extensions, I’ve answered a few of the most popular questions I’ve been receiving below.
How often do you have to get fills?
To maintain a full appearance, it is recommended to schedule a refill every 2-4 weeks. I typically get a fill every 2.5 weeks and each appointment lasts approximately 45 minutes. (If you’re in the DFW area, I highly recommend Mia at Amazing Lash Studio – Stonebriar!) #amazing
Can I wear mascara?
There are specific no rules to wearing lash extensions, you do you, girl – but rule of thumb is to avoid mascara. After a fill, there usually is no need to apply mascara because your lashes already give the illusion that you are wearing mascara. I normally will apply a thin coat of mascara to my lashes when it is time for a fill to ensure my lashes are dark and full, but until then there is no need.
Do lash extensions interfere with getting a good night’s rest?
I will say that sleeping with lash extensions takes some getting used to. Being an avid sleeper, I don’t let much get in the way of my 8 hours of sleep per night. When I first got lash extensions, I woke up every couple of hours ensuring I didn’t sleep on them wrong or rip them off when I was in my full REM-sleep mode. Needless to say, as long as you’re not sleeping face down on your pillow, you should be good to go.
What products should I avoid if I have lash extensions?
Avoid all oil-based products around the eye-area throughout the duration of your extensions. Using oil-based products can dissolve the bonding agent used and they can shorten the life of your eyelash extensions. No thank you!
While I think lash extensions are totally worth every penny and think you would look like a total smoke-show in them, I’m sure you have a few additional questions you’d like answered. This page is super helpful for FAQs and you can find a lash studio near you here.

While my original treatment was complimentary, I received no compensation from Amazing Lash Studio. All opinions are my own.

I have always considered getting lash extensions, but have had a hard time with the ongoing cost. Great to know though that you don’t need to wear mascara as I spend a decent amount on that today. Love these tips – and your lashes are so glam, agreed! XO

Such great tips! I would love not to have to wear mascara even though I love it, I always get it all over my eyes when I’m putting it on. ha

I have the longest lashes ever and as a kid I even asked my mom if I could cut them!! OMG how horrific would that be. Thanks for this post, learned a lot. Style by Liv.

My friend actually does lashes, so I am going to give them a try some time soon! The only thing I am concerned about is the sleep – I am one that likes to have 8 hours of sleep too.

This is so great! I got lash extensions for the first time a couple months ago and I am totally hooked, they are so great! I was the same way with the sleep for the first few nights, definitely took some getting used to but they are so worth it! You look gorgeous in these pictures!

Such a brilliant post, I’m a big fan of this because I also upkeep my lash extensions. People often ask why I do it because it’s quite pricey, but honestly I’m doing me and I loooove the effect. It’s significantly better than applying pounds of mascara throughout the day & it’s such a nice natural look. We are twins! 😉 adaatude.com
