I know there has been a ton of wedding talk here on Sophisticated Whimsy lately, but y’all the big day is only three weeks away! Yep, you read that right. Only 21 days to go.
As a bride, time is your most important asset. I seriously cannot stress that enough! Luckily for me, Braden and I had a year and a half engagement, so I had some extra buffer time in between our engagement and actual wedding planning. But, the truth is that you never really have enough time to get everything done.
You learn to become extremely efficient with your time and learn what is a top priority and what can fall a little farther on the list. I knew I wanted to have all of my wedding invitations handwritten in beautiful calligraphy. The original plan was for me to take calligraphy lessons and address them myself. Well… remember that whole “time is your most important asset” thing? Between working full-time, blogging, and wedding planning, I just couldn’t fit calligraphy classes into my crazy schedule. Womp, womp….
Luckily, I attend #dallasbloggerbrunch every month hosted by my sweet friend, Rhonda Jenkins, where I am fortunate enough to be introduced to some of the most talented and creative ladies in the DFW area. At one specific brunch, we each had the most adorable and personalized name cards from Dallas-based calligrapher, Betty of Scribbles & Swirls. When I realized that I didn’t have the time to take the calligraphy lessons and address my own envelopes, Betty immediately popped into my mind.
Betty is so talented and works closely with each of her clients to understand their style and design preferences to create custom pieces for their event. I sent her examples of what I was gravitating towards and she brought it to life in no time. While I wish I could take the credit from all of the compliments I’ve received on the envelopes, I have to sincerely tell them that I will pass along the kind words.
