5 TIPS FOR YOUR BEST HAIR

February 28, 2017 By Kari 13 Comments

5 Tips to Your Best Hair 5 Tips to Your Best Hair 5 Tips to Your Best Hair5 Tips to Your Best Hair

With the constant evolution in the hair and beauty industry — it can definitely be difficult to keep up with the latest trend or “must have” product. With new product releases each week and people raving about this and that, it’s easy to feel defeated and not necessarily know where to start. Right?!

As a beauty blogger, I am fortunate enough to try new beauty products each week to see what works and what doesn’t work. My goal is to always share my favorite tips and tricks with you guys in hopes of making your life that much easier.

And I’ll be honest, makeup has always come super natural to me, but hair care is something I am constantly trying to improve in and learn more about. But as a gal who has naturally wavy and frizzy hair, I’ve definitely had my fair share of experience with hot tools and serums!

After years of trial and error, I’ve pulled together my tried and trued tips of maintaining your best hair:

1. Only wash your hair 2-3 times per week

This is my favorite rule of thumb. Since my hair requires so much maintenance, I try to only wash it a few times per week. In between washes I love this dry shampoo and this one! They’re total life savers and help me avoid using heat on my hair every day.

2. Not all shampoos and conditioners are created equal

Although they’re typically on the pricier end, I highly recommend purchasing a washing duo that was created for your hair type. Whether you’re looking for volume, texture or a color extender, Redken has an extensive line that has something for everyone.

When my hair is colored, this is my favorite.

When I’m looking for hydration, I always stick to this!

3. Only use tools that nurture your hair

There are tons of hot tools out there, but always do your research before purchasing! You always want to ensure your flat iron, curling iron and/or blow dryer has a heat protecting technology that nurtures your hair rather than damaging it. Always remember that you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to hot tools.

4. Switch to silk

Silk Pillowcases are heaven sent, ladies! Not only does a silk pillowcase reduce face wrinkles and fine lines, but it completely reduces bed head. Ordinary pillowcases can cause hair to pull and tangle throughout the night which can potentially lead to damaging your hair. My silk pillowcase has been a complete game changer in my beauty routine.

5. Deep condition twice a month

I use a coconut oil hair mask twice a month and loooove the results. The coconut oil leaves my hair feeling hydrated and refreshed, without looking weighed down or oily. I scoop out a handful of coconut oil, warm it up between my palms and then lather it throughout my hair. Next, I throw my hair into a bun and let it sit for an hour. Shampoo and condition as normal and voila –  silky smooth hair!

While these are my personal favorite hair tips, I totally understand that they may not work for everyone! If you have any tips on how to maintain your best hair, please leave them in the comments below.

I love T3 products! I wish I could get away with only washing my hair a few times a week, but my hair always gets greasy after like 1 day so it’s legit impossible. So sad.
