One of my 2018 resolutions is to treasure and better acknowledge the people I love most in my life. I’m sure you’re wondering what that means and asking why I’m not already doing these things. It’s certainly not that I’m not treasuring my family and friends, it’s just that I want to be more aware of my actions and show gratitude for each of them on a more frequent basis.
Between work, travels, and normal everyday life, it can be difficult to keep in touch with your best friend who lives across the country, your aunt who lives thirty minutes away, or even your neighbor down the street. While I so appreciate a 3-day game of phone tag and endless voicemails and text messages, I’ve decided to take it old school in the New Year.

Yep — you read that correctly. I want to pro-actively write gratitude notes to my friends and family near and far this year. I personally love receiving hand-written notes, not only because it’s an unexpected delight, but also because of the thought that goes into it. Especially in such a digital age, it’s nice to sit down with a piece of paper and a pen to jot down your thoughts or feelings. (#NotYourAverageMillennial)
While on the hunt for the perfect stationery, I was introduced to Basic Invite which allows you to customize basically any invitation, stationery, and “thank you” note imaginable with unlimited colors and printing options. Not only do I love a hand-written note, but I am smitten over paper goods! It was so enjoyable to play around with different fonts and colors until I created exactly what I was looking for. And I’m so obsessed with the way they turned out!
So now that I have my personalized stationery, it’s time to get busy! When was the last time you shared “sweet nothings” with someone you love? I challenge each of you to send a hand-written note to a friend or family member this week and share your gratitude with them. ♥️
