One thing I’ve been investing more time and energy into is skincare. I’ve always taken great care of my skin, but as I’ve gotten older I have figured out what truly works for my skin type and how to properly handle blemishes and imperfections when they appear.
My skin has always been extremely sensitive and acne prone, but I have finally found a routine that combats the two and leaves my skin feeling hydrated, youthful and refreshed.
*Things to note: I was prescribed Spironolactone 50mg for my hormonal acne last February and it has made a world of a difference. If you are finding that your blemishes stay around your jawline and chin area, consider consulting a doctor about this medication to see if you could also benefit from it.
Alongside my medication, I have a few tried and true products that never let me down. I’ve listed them in the order in which I apply them (application process starts with the lightest product and finishes with the heaviest). I’ve included multiple products that I love under each category, but I just use one at a time unless I specify otherwise. I like to switch up my regimen as often as possible so my skin never gets “used” to a product!

MORNING
While my morning routine includes multiple steps, I try to keep the products light so my face doesn’t get oily throughout the day and so that my makeup sets properly.
Tip: Wait at least 5 minutes after you apply your moisturizer to begin your makeup application. This time will allow the products to fully sink into your skin and do their intended job.
1. Cleanser
2. Eye Cream
3. Serum
I always use the SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense and follow with one of these serums
4. Moisturizer
I switch off between these three moisturizers

EVENING
I am a firm believer in applying a hydrating serum and moisturizer before bed. Your skin repairs and regenerates itself between midnight and 2:00am while fully absorbing the skincare products you apply prior. Applying a product(s) that hydrates your skin will help you look refreshed when you wake up and help avoid the dark circles and puffiness.
1. Cleanser
2. Eye Cream
3. Serum
4. Moisturizer
I switch off between these four moisturizers
5. Spot Treatment
This is the best spot treatment product I have ever used!
I’d love to hear about any skincare products you’re obsessing over in the comments below! And as always, please reach out if you have any questions or need a specific recommendation! xo
