Thank you to American Greetings for sponsoring today’s post! As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This month, Braden and I are celebrating our 7 year dating anniversary! I know it’s common to change your anniversary date to your wedding date, but we think it’s important to celebrate both anniversaries—dating and wedding. Between work and personal responsibilities, it’s nice to have a reason to escape from it all and simply enjoy the company of your significant other.
Since Braden typically plans and executes the most romantic gestures for any and every occasion, I wanted to take the reins this year and surprise him with a sunset picnic. Since the evenings in Austin are still quite warm, I opted for chilled white wine and fresh fruit as an appetizer before dinner. I figured this would be a relaxing way to unwind from the day and take in the beautiful summer scenery!
Before setting out for our picnic, I racked my brain trying to figure out what to give him as a gift for our anniversary. I combed through the typical gifts and realized he didn’t really need anything. I opted for the sentimental route and found the perfect greeting card at Target and filled it with sweet words and highlighted my favorite moments we’ve experienced over the last 7 years.
Whenever I purchase cards, I always go to Target because they have the best selection and I always purchase numerous options. I like to purchase a few cards just in case I make a mistake while writing and to ensure I have heartfelt notes on hand for special occasions. On this Target run, I picked two generic “Happy Anniversary” cards and one “Thinking of You” card from a featured artist, Jen Fitchwell.
Needless to say, the sentimental route was definitely the best route for this anniversary. Braden was over the moon for his surprise picnic, but the card sealed the deal!
I’m so thankful I get to do life with him, Happy Anniversary Boba!!
