I’ve always been known to dye my hair a shade or two darker during the fall and winter months. But after years of getting my hair professionally colored, I became tired of spending hours in the salon chair and way too much money. I thankfully stumbled across Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color a little over a year ago (see original post here) and haven’t had my hair professionally colored since!

My go-to Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color is Berry Brown 5.3. It’s a perfect rich brown color that has subtle violet undertones that helps me achieve the hair color I’m always lusting over. Since my hair naturally pulls reds and oranges, the Berry Brown shade brings my dream color to life — and all for less than $10 at Target! I especially love using Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color because they use K-BOND PLEX™, which is an anti-breakage technology that repairs the inner hair structure for strong and healthy hair. Once my hair is colored, it actually looks and feels healthier than it did before!

Right now, if you buy 4 boxes at your local Target you’ll receive a $5 gift card to use on  Schwarzkopf® Hair products.

How I Dye My Hair at Home

Below are the steps that I take to achieve an even and successful dye at home:

Step 1: Apply the Pre-Color Serum to dry ends

Step 2: Mix the Color Creme (2a) to Developer Lotion (2b), shake until mixed, and apply entire bottle to hair

Step 3: Let color sit for 30 minutes

Step 4: Hop in the shower to rinse the product out and apply K-BOND PLEX™ Conditioner for 2 minutes and rinse

*Tip: Use lukewarm water and do not use shampoo!

Step 5: Voila, you’re done!

…Told you it was easy! I’ve also heard that Schwarzkopf® is coming out with a new product that works on all hair textures, plus it’s moisturizing & deeply nourishing. Can’t wait to try it out!

I hate expensive salon costs, it’s great that you can get a gorgeous look at home for a fraction of the price.

Your hair looks amazing!! I always used to color my hair at home since it’s just a simple jet black but then it got a little too complicated with my hair extensions and had to start going to someone!

Your hair looks so good!! I know I’d never be able to dye my hair at home and have it turn out nearly as good as yours does.
