If you haven’t figured it out yet, I am quite the beauty junkie. I’m constantly trying out new products and methods and always looking to learn more about makeup! Through trial and error, I have found my favorite items that I consider to be my “go-to” look.
I am walking through my current routine in the order that I apply it with helpful tips and tricks as well as quick reviews on each product below. All products mentioned are linked below!
Foundation: During Winter, I try to focus solely on my skin care since the weather takes a huge toll on it. I always make sure to look for a dewy foundation finish during the chilly months to compensate for my unfavorable dry skin. I am seriously obsessed with the Lancôme Teint Miracle foundation. It applies so smooth and sticks onto my face like glue producing a medium to full coverage finish. It leaves a nice, healthy and hydrated looking finish, without adding too much sheen! Although it is not necessary, I usually prime my face with this primer and cannot say enough good things about it. This primer/foundation combo is a must-have for me. I also have to mention the Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush, holy moly. Applying any foundation with this brush will leave your skin with an airbrushed finish that is perfectly even, reducing any cakey residue!
Concealer: The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is almost too good! It doesn’t settle into fine lines and absolutely does not crease. I always buy my concealer a shade lighter than my skin tone to add a nice overall highlight to the face. I highly recommend this trick to anyone looking to add a nice inner glow to their face! I am currently going through a Beauty Blender obsession and won’t apply my concealer any other way. Using a damp Beauty Blender will evenly distribute the concealer and will soak up any excess product, making it nearly impossible to over-do your under-eye area. Tip: always set your under-eye area with a translucent setting powder to ensure your concealer won’t crease.
Setting Powder: If you have combination to oily skin, you must set your foundation/concealer with a loose powder. If you don’t, your makeup will basically melt right off of your face. I have been using this drugstore product for as long as I can remember and recommend it to anyone. It is completely translucent and ensures your makeup will last throughout your whole day. Plus, it’s less than $10 and will last you a long time!
Blush: I normally switch up my blush color depending on my make up look, but I’ve been seriously hooked on this specific blush color for a couple of months now. The Balm’s blush formulation is super pigmented, but super blendable! I like to apply my blush directly onto the apples of my cheeks, adding a nice sun-kissed look to the face.
Brows: Shaping your brows with a brow pencil completes your look and makes your face look more symmetrical. I highly recommend any product from Anastasia, but my personal favorite is the Brow Wiz Pencil. This pencil goes on a perfect shade – not too dark, not too light – and comes with a spooly attached to brush through your brow, ensuring the color is evenly distributed.
Eyeshadow: Being an avid Jaclyn Hill YouTube watcher, I was “told” to try Morphe eyeshadows. Having never heard of this brand before, I cannot say enough great things about it! Each eyeshadow runs for about $2 and holy moly, they are so pigmented and blend so easily. This is the only shadow I’ve been using since I’ve purchased the palette…
Mascara: I have been using Cover Girl’s Lash Blast Mascara for as long as I can remember. I’ve tried multiple high-end mascaras, but constantly keep reaching for this one! I first curl my lashes with the Lancome lash curler and then apply two coats of mascara. This mascara adds the perfect amount of volume and length with each stroke.
Highlight: I apply this highlight to the tops of my cheek bones as well as on my cupid’s bow (right above the upper lip). I use Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfecter in the shade Moonstone. This is the only highlight I’ve ever used and cannot say one bad thing about it. Being extremely fair skinned, it’s hard for me to find a vanilla highlight that doesn’t make my cheeks look overdone or muddy. This shade is perfect for fair skinned girls and leaves you looking like you’re glowing from within!
Finishing Spray: Last, but certainly not least, I finish my look off by spraying Urban Decay’s Chill Makeup Setting Spray all over my face. I apply 4-5 sprays, covering my whole face ensuring my makeup will last all day. This setting spray is perfect for dry to combination skin because it leaves a dewy finish right on top of your makeup. If you are more oily, I would recommend the Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray.
Phew! Talk about a long post! Please reach out if you have questions regarding any of the products/steps listed above! I’d be more than happy to help. xo
